I couldn’t resist making a second Buzz Lightyear ring out of polymer clay. I made the face smaller so I could get that chestplate in.
This Buzz says, “I look like Ziggy.”
Whether you call him a Personality Core or a Corrupt Core or even Wheatly… this fellow is from Portal 2. No doubt. I imagine that he was grabbed by one of the sketch artists (human test subjects) who are always marking up the walls in Portal and Portal 2 and using a bit of gel here and some markers there… dressed the little joker up as Buzz Lightyear. Either that or I just finished playing the game and had Portal 2 on the brain and just wanted to pay homage to an amazing game and sequel.

A quick sketch on the back of an old Nobody’s Listening podcast business card.
This Buzz says, “It looks like I have pig-tails.”
Allow me to begin by saying that this Buzz was an absolute blast to create. The moment you start mixing a little Axe Cop in, anything goes… and the more over the top the better! The emphasis wasn’t the costume this time… but rather on the backpack and wings. The booster? A raw rocket engine. The wings? Ripped right off an X-Wing fighter. Axe Cop wouldn’t have it any other way. I might mention that this drawing was done from a photo of the real Axe Cop just after he separated Zurg’s head from his body.
Thanks to everyone who requested this one. And Tyranothanks (that’s the most thanks you can give in the universe) to Ethan Nichole for sharing his brother’s (and his own) genius with the rest of the world.
This Buzz says, “I’ll chop your head off forever and even longer!”
I didn’t start out to draw a Frankenstein Buzz… but he sure turned out that way. Inspired by one of my artistic heroes, Ethan Nichole artist and co-creator of Axe Cop, I stuck to black and white this time.
This Buzz says, “INFFINNNNITYYYYY”
I liked how the little guy turned out in yesterday’s entry so I blew him up and gave him the full-color treatment.
This Buzz says, “Why I gotta be all bald and junk?”
Make sure you click to the graphic to make it big so you can actually read it. Though this is one of the simplest drawings I’ve done… because of the verbiage, it was one of my more challenging. I like the way little web comic Buzz turned out though. He’s cute!
This Buzz says, “I’d make a great regular series… because James doesn’t have enough to do already!”
