I drew this on my iPad in one shot during a meeting using a note taking app. I was pretty happy with how recognizable he was even with so few lines.
This Buzz says, “I only have eyes…. and nose, mouth and chin… for youuuuu.”
I created this on my lunch break at work. I limited myself to the default color pallet, the default cell dimensions, and kept it all up above the scroll. My wife really loves this one being an Accountant… though she was a little appalled until I told her it wasn’t created in Excel.
Since this is a Google Document, I’ve set the permissions to “share” so you can see it in person!
This Buzz says, “Buzz Lightyear to mission log: I have arrived on a strange planet, all signs point to this being a place for automated calculations, but there seems to be no signs of intelligent life anywhere…”.
I’ll be the first to say it… this Buzz is gross. It was a lot of fun to do though. Zombies rule. Buzz rules. It’s a win-win!

I was using Stumbled Upon and found this article on io9 about Emo Superheroes and Villains by jsalvadordesign.com. I totally ripped off his style and made my own Buzz with his own sad, emo-phrase.

Today I’ve reused the pattern I made for Perler Bead Buzz but this time I’ve created him in the game, Minecraft. Minecraft is a game about placing blocks to build anything you can imagine.
Buzz is 47 blocks tall. That’s about 155 virtual feet tall. This joker is huge.
This Buzz says, “One minute you’re defending the whole galaxy, and, suddenly… your a giant.”

This Buzz was created with marbleized construction paper… kind of on accident. I meant to buy the regular kind… but somehow came home with this pearly stuff. Color selection was limited so I cheated a bit. The black parts are red paper with black marker… and the eyes and smile (white) are card stock.
The entire buzz was created with nothing but the paper, rubber cement and a pair of scissors. No drawing, sketching, planning of any kind. I watched Swamp Thing while I put him together (extra trivia).

I have my blank Mighty Mugg ready to paint. First I needed a plan… I have that now. Next I need about 10 bucks worth of craft paint, brushes, primer and sealer. I should have the real thing painted… right after I get the papercraft Buzz done.

We’re potty training our 2 year old son. He gets a Skittle every time he pees in the potty so we’ve got this huge bag of Skittles laying around. It occurred to me that there were probably enough different colors in there to fashion some kind of Buzz image. I was right. If you’re having troubles making him out (he’s kind of low-rez) maybe the picture below will help.
