I bought some felt and made him. Isn’t he cute?
This Buzz says, “I’m a cute, strange little man… and I need no pity.”

My kids and I went to Micheal’s and they had a sale on little Perler bead kits and so I bought a couple for them to do that evening. I ended up trying to make the smallest Buzz that I could but you could still recognize. Note that the orientation of the beads is diagonal. I think I could have gotten him even smaller if they were horizontal like the last one.
This Buzz says, “My face is four beads squeezed together… kind of hurts”.
I’ve always loved Dr. Seuss’ style. So simple, yet so hard to duplicate properly. I love how well the face Seuss uses for most humans works so well for Buzz. So proud. I cheated a little on his feet. I know he should have shoes… but I love the pointed toes he drew so much I had to us them.
This Buzz says, “I have come down from another world, to save the earth from Zurgy Spurls. By Spurls I mean the zurgy kind. The zurgiest Spurls you’ll likely find. I defend against them, the scourge of all space, so Peeps may sleep soundly each Peep in their place. The Peeps sleep more soundly outside on their lawn, ’cause I am defending to infinity and beyond.”
I can’t draw women. I had to cheat and start with someone else’s wire frame and build from there. I still like the way she turned out… though it feels weird.
The Buzz says, “I’m cold.”
Inspired by the work done on Minimalism Heroes I created my own set: Minimalism Toy Story. Enjoy!
Here’s the actual size version.
This Buzz says, “Details, details. Who needs details.”
This Buzz is crap. I’ll be the first to admit it… but you can blame my 2 year old son. I wet a piece of notebook paper, turned it into a basic human shape and let it dry. I wasn’t thrilled with the result and was going to toss it out. Somehow it ended up on the floor and my son found it. He started yelling, “Buzz! Buzz!” and wouldn’t leave me alone until I drew on the shape. He was very happy with the outcome… so I figured hey, let’s post it.
This Buzz says, “Some people are easily impressed. Most of them are under age 3.”
Fat Buzz wasn’t enough. I needed to do an even bigger version. I was wondering how he would turn out since Sumo have so few clothes on it might prove difficult to add enough of the character to be recognizable. I’m happy with how it turned out.
This Buzz says, “I AM… SUMO BUZZ! NOT A FLYING TOY!”
Buzz never needed to resort to being a dictator… he’s a natural leader. But if he were a dictator… this might be a poster you’d get used to seeing. His rule would reach to infinity and beyond.
This Buzz says, “Loose lips sink spaceships!”.
Here’s the first in what I plan to be several Buzz Lightyear/Star Wars crossovers. It was difficult choosing which elements of which character should be kept and tossed. Especially when you break down the elements of their costumes. They both have many of the same parts… though they look very different from one another. I’m pretty happy with how he turned out… though I’m sure I could draw this mashup 20 times and come out with a different looking character every time.
This Buzz says, “What if Zurg doesn’t survive the freezing process? He’s worth a lot to me.”
I used to play Farmville a lot though always enjoyed Frontierville more. Several months ago I canceled both accounts to spend my time more profitably. Imagine my surprise when I reactivated my Farmville account to find that my farm was still there waiting. I quickly sold off or recycled everything I could and started buying hay bales. About an hour later I had my Buzz.
This Buzz says, “Why is there purple hay in this game?”
