Nothing fancy today. Just a giant Buzz. Why is he so upset? I like to imagine that he just opened the Ark of the Covenant and is about to start melting.
This Buzz says, “It’s beautiful!!!”
Allow me to begin by saying that this Buzz was an absolute blast to create. The moment you start mixing a little Axe Cop in, anything goes… and the more over the top the better! The emphasis wasn’t the costume this time… but rather on the backpack and wings. The booster? A raw rocket engine. The wings? Ripped right off an X-Wing fighter. Axe Cop wouldn’t have it any other way. I might mention that this drawing was done from a photo of the real Axe Cop just after he separated Zurg’s head from his body.
Thanks to everyone who requested this one. And Tyranothanks (that’s the most thanks you can give in the universe) to Ethan Nichole for sharing his brother’s (and his own) genius with the rest of the world.
This Buzz says, “I’ll chop your head off forever and even longer!”
I didn’t start out to draw a Frankenstein Buzz… but he sure turned out that way. Inspired by one of my artistic heroes, Ethan Nichole artist and co-creator of Axe Cop, I stuck to black and white this time.
This Buzz says, “INFFINNNNITYYYYY”
I liked how the little guy turned out in yesterday’s entry so I blew him up and gave him the full-color treatment.
This Buzz says, “Why I gotta be all bald and junk?”
Make sure you click to the graphic to make it big so you can actually read it. Though this is one of the simplest drawings I’ve done… because of the verbiage, it was one of my more challenging. I like the way little web comic Buzz turned out though. He’s cute!
This Buzz says, “I’d make a great regular series… because James doesn’t have enough to do already!”
I ran across an interesting site called World’s Biggest PAC-MAN and decided to create a Buzz Lightyear as a PAC MAN maze. I’m pretty happy with him.
As an added bonus… you can actually play PAC Man Buzz Lightyear!
This Buzz says, “Wakka wakka wakka.” (what else?)
There are certain characters who you look at and can just see Buzz Lightyear. The Juggernaut, those potato-headed bad guys from Doctor Who… and the Big Daddy from Bioshock. I have stayed away from these characters for that very reason. It’s harder to make the conversion than you’d think because no matter how much from one character you add… they still look a lot like they did before. Needless to say I’m not super impressed with how this one turned out… but he still counts as number 141 out of 365!
This Buzz says, “Muuuuuuuaaaaahhhhh.”
You know what your life has been missing? A pancake in the shape of Buzz Lightyear’s head. Well, no longer! You are so welcome.
Today’s entry was inspired by the amazing pancake artwork over at Jim’s Pancakes. Go check out what he’s doing over there.
This Buzz says, “What goes best with a poly-carbonate space suit? Syrup, cinnamon and sugar, fruit, jelly or peanut butter?”
“I wanted to make a Buzz that was intimidating and somewhat scary, and ended up with this.”

“I was checking the last few updates of your Buzzes yesterday, and I had sudden inspiration to do another of my own. Traveling far past the Renaissance, we now know the answer to the question: What if Buzz Lightyear were a hipster?”
by Matthew Sargent
We all know that one kid… the only thing that is maturing on him is his ability to grow specks of hair on his face. Poor guy. I imagine that Buzz’s over-the-top personality might be in response to a pretty tough social life in High School. That and someone suggested I do an awkward teen Buzz.
This Buzz says, “Prom is stupid anyway.”
