To Christmas and Beyond: My Buzz Lightyear Ornament Collection!
Ever since Toy Story first hit theaters, Buzz Lightyear has been my favorite character. His mix of bravery, cluelessness, and charm makes him an unforgettable part of Pixar history. Over the years, I’ve collected Buzz Lightyear Christmas ornaments, each one capturing a different side of the legendary Space Ranger.
In this post, I’m sharing a series of photos from my collection—from classic Hallmark designs to rare finds that make my Christmas tree a Star Command masterpiece. Whether you’re a fellow collector, a Toy Story fan, or just love unique holiday decorations, I hope you enjoy this look at Buzz Lightyear in all his festive glory! 🚀🎄
This one of the better sculpts. He’s got a great face. Good coloring.
The wrist communicator is open. The helmet is down. There’s a great little wire around the back that allows you to hang him from the top. Very detailed sculpt. Not the best face but a great painjob.
This is a pretty cheap Buzz ornament from Target.
This is one of my favorites. A full mini Buzz boxed inside his movie accurate box. Note the button at the bottom-front. It performs several lines from Toy Story.
You’ve got to love that scarf. When you pull the ball it makes his hands move. Very cute.
A great sculpt and pose. Nice half-helmet with the metal hanger. An excellent paint job. Weird face. It’s a hard face to do because one eyebrow looks angry, the other raised. A lot of sculptors can’t seem to get it right. He can sometimes come off as angry or confused.
A cheap glass Buzz Lightyear ornament from Target. He’s done pretty well except for those eyes. They’re not exactly pointing the same direction.
One’s looking at you, the other’s looking for you.
I’m not a plush collector. They don’t age or display well due to dust. But this one had great embroidery and the little touches on the chestplate that made it worthwhile. Plus, they nailed the face.
This is another of my favorite Buzz Lightyear Christmas ornaments. The Claw! The metal hanger literally connects to the claw inside allowing him to be raised and lowered. Add to that a hand full of aliens and you can almost ignore that ridiculous face.
I can show you the world.
The alien seems very happy and safe… but Buzz himself looks like he’s had a few and shouldn’t be flying at all, much less with a passenger.
Weird face, but I love that when he’s in the tree he appears to be hanging from the lights.
This is likely my favorite Buzz Lightyear Christmas ornament. He’s a tiny little guy with a great retro look and all the little features that make him so great. The only thing I could complain about is the lights on the tips of his wings aren’t painted.
Wait? Didn’t we see this one earlier?
Yes. This happens when you have two of the same ornament. I believe this was gifted to me. Either that or I bought one two different times. If you compare pictures the paint is different. Not the same picture twice.
A better take on the glass Buzz Lightyear Christmas ornament. I’m always a sucker for a stylized version of the original. He’s pretty cute.
Thanks for checking out my collection!
