Just A Bunch of Random Buzz Stuff, Part 1

stuff-buzz-disney-quest-card

You know when you’re moving and all of the boxes are on the truck but there’s all this unclassifiable stuff in ever room of the house? Well, that’s what this stuff is. Except it’s the leftovers of clear tub number 2 which I store Buzz Lightyear stuff in the closet of my home office.

The following items are so random that they almost have no association with one another at all. There are a few pens, so I guess they’re a set… but what are you supposed to write about pens. You’re supposed to write with them not about them. I didn’t even shoot a group photo for the top of the post because there is no way I could arrange everything to fit in the frame and look good. And I forgot.

Disney Quest Card

First item you see up above is a Ultimate Play Card from the Chicago Disney Quest. My church went on a missions trip to inner-city Chicago and on the last day we got to do Disney Quest. Since it had a Buzz on it, I kept it. There’s a great story of something horrible that happened at Disney Quest that is told by the people that caused it in a NLCast Podcast Episode. You should check it out. Funny stuff.

Toy Story Playing Cards

It’s a deck of cards with Buzz as the Ace and Woody as the King. Love it. I was once given a loose pack of these cards by my niece and her father. At the time I was into card magic and was collecting decks. I liked them so much I ran out and bought a sealed box of them.

Buzz On A Car Crazy Straw

It’s a crazy straw and Buzz is on it. I don’t know why, and I don’t know why he’s on a car. I know that Buzz is often seen surfing on a car due to the “Falling With Style” scene, I just don’t know why he’s floating in midair and not in some flying pose. That would make the most sense to me.

He’s pretty cool. I usually display him from a Buzz cup or mug… but never in a flagon.

stuff-buzz-dogtag

Buzz Lightyear Universe Protection Unit Personalized Dog Tag

That’s a long title for such a little thing. Got this at the Disney Park outside of Buzz Astro Blasters. It’s rare that I can find my name, not because they don’t make it, but because James is so popular that the spot is empty. Stupid Jerry always has plenty. Anyway, I was petty stoked back when Astro Blasters was new and I liked the full color dog tag. Instabuy as they say.

Disney Store Gift Card

Another card. Another card with Buzz Lightyear. This is from the Disney Store. I saw it in a rack with other cards. I asked about getting one… and I had to put a minimum of $5 on it. So I did… and for all I know it’s still on there. Doubt it. These things time out after a couple of decades don’t they?

stuff-buzz-lightyear-magnets

Buzz and Aliens Magnets

If I’m not mistaken I bought a whole set of these. There were other Toy Story characters. I either threw out the others or gave them to some child. The magnets are crap. They won’t hold a piece of paper to a wall. Mostly because a wall isn’t magnetic. You’re a sad strange little magnet, and you have my pity.

stuff-buzz-night-light

Buzz Lightyear Night Light

Dang it I thought I was done but there’ like 5 more after this. It’s 1 am in the morning and I’m tired. This is a nightlight. It has a sensor. The sensor tells the nightlight to turn on and blow the bulb. This is my most prized Buzz collectible. Back in the bin with ya!

Star Command Clearance Badge w/Lanyard

I said up above that I was really into Buzz’s Astro Blasters when it came out at Disney World. I rode it several times and tried to get the best score I could. Though I don’t remember my exact store you can claim the Cosmic Commando title if you score between 600,001-999,999 points. It is second only to Galactic Hero for +999,999 plus. I remember thinking for some reason that the badge would come free as a prize for getting so many points. No stupid. This is Disney World. You’re gonna pay for everything! Still worth it because of the good memories.

stuff-buzz-pen-8

Not Buzz Light-up Pen

I don’t recall buying the Not Buzz pen… but it lights up when you write with it which is pretty cool. Or at least it did back before the batteries died.

stuff-buzz-pen-4

Awesome Pen With Dangling Buzz Lightyear

It’s a cool little pen. Buzz dangles from the top. There’s a magnet on his back that fits into a recess on the clip so he won’t dangle when you don’t want him to. He’s in a flying pose which makes more sense than standing on a car. It’s not recommended for children under the age of…. you guessed it… three.

stuff-buzz-pen-7

It’s a pretty good little figure. It always blows my mind how they can get the details right on little figures like this, then blow it on the bigger ones.

stuff-buzz-pen-2

Buzz Lightyear Multi Pen

You know those huge pens that have like 15 different inks loaded in them. You twist the top and push down and you have a new color. This is that. Except it only has like 4 colors and I don’t know what they are because the pen has long been dried out. It’s a good looking, slightly over sized pen with a rarer Buzz graphic (not used as much as some). It was purchased at Disney Store and cost to much.

Space Ranger Spin Pen

Say that three times fast. Okay don’t. This was bought at the kiosk outside the Buzz ride at Disney. Magic Kingdom printed right at the top. Nothing else remarkable about it other than it has a huge white sticker for no obvious reason. Probably says something about not choking 3 year olds on it.

Oh My Gosh, That’s It

Thanks for looking and reading today. There was a bunch of stuff to get through so we can move on to the more important pieces.

Do you collect pens? Do you collect anything at all? Lighters? Owls? Smurfs? Let me know in the comments.
